Biscuit Ingredients

Method

Biscuit Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.

  3. 3

    Cut in Butter

Add the unsalted butter to the flour mixture and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. 4

    Add Milk

Pour in the milk and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

  5. 5

    Shape the Biscuits

Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times. Pat it out to about 1-inch thick. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits.

  6. 6

    Bake

Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.

  7. 7

    Serve

Remove from oven, let cool slightly, then serve warm with butter and jam.
