Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the seafood

Rinse the mussels, clams, and scallops under cold water. Discard any mussels or clams that are open and do not close when tapped. Pat the seafood dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Cook the linguini

In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the linguini according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Sauce

  1. 3

    Make the sauce base

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, stirring for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  2. 4

    Add tomatoes and wine

Pour in the canned crushed tomatoes and white wine, stirring to combine. Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer and let it cook for 10 minutes.

  3. 5

    Season the sauce

Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Stir in the chopped fresh basil.

Combine seafood and sauce

  1. 6

    Add seafood to the sauce

Carefully add the mussels, clams, jumbo shrimp, and scallops to the sauce. Cover the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the mussels and clams have opened and the shrimp and scallops are cooked through.

Serve

  1. 7

    Plate the dish

To serve, place a portion of linguini on each plate and top with the seafood and sauce. Garnish with additional fresh basil if desired.
