Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, combine olive oil, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Marinate

Add the culotte steak to the marinade, ensuring it is fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade. Grill the steak for about 4-5 minutes per side or until it reaches your desired doneness. Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Salad Assembly

  1. 4

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the steak is marinating, wash and dry the mixed salad greens. Slice the roasted red peppers, tomato, and red onion.

  2. 5

    Make the Vinaigrette

In a small bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar, olive oil, honey, salt, and pepper until emulsified.

  3. 6

    Assemble the Salad

In a large bowl, combine the salad greens, roasted red peppers, sliced tomato, sliced red onion, and grated Asiago cheese. Drizzle with the balsamic vinaigrette and toss gently to combine.

  4. 7

Finish with Steak and Crispy Onions

Slice the rested steak thinly against the grain and place it on top of the salad. Sprinkle crispy onions over the salad before serving.
