Method
Custard Mixture
- 1
Prepare the Custard
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, eggs, and salt until well combined and the sugar is dissolved.
Bread Pudding
- 2
Prepare the Bread Pudding
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter. Tear the stale bread into small pieces and place it in the greased baking dish. Sprinkle the semi-sweet chocolate chips evenly over the bread pieces.
- 3
Combine Ingredients
Pour the prepared custard mixture over the bread and chocolate chips, ensuring all pieces are soaked. Allow it to rest for about 15 minutes to absorb the custard.
- 4
Bake the Bread Pudding
Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
White Chocolate Syrup
- 5
Make the White Chocolate Syrup
In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the white chocolate chips and heavy cream together, stirring constantly until smooth and well combined. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Serving
- 6
Serve the Dish
Once the bread pudding is baked, let it cool for a few minutes. Cut into squares and serve warm, drizzled with the white chocolate syrup.
