Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Wash and Dry Spinach

Thoroughly wash the fresh spinach under cold running water to remove any dirt or grit. Spin or pat dry using a salad spinner or clean kitchen towels.

  2. 2

    Prepare Garlic

Peel the garlic cloves and finely mince them using a knife or a garlic press to release their flavor.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Heat Olive Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until it shimmers.

  2. 4

    Sauté Garlic

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, until it becomes fragrant and lightly golden. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

  3. 5

    Add Spinach

Gradually add the washed spinach to the skillet. You may need to do this in batches, allowing the spinach to wilt down before adding more.

  4. 6

    Season and Cook

Once all the spinach is added, sprinkle with salt and black pepper. Stir occasionally and cook for about 3-5 minutes, or until the spinach is fully wilted and tender.

  5. 7

    Finish with Lemon Juice

Remove the skillet from heat and drizzle the lemon juice over the cooked spinach. Toss to combine and adjust seasoning if necessary.
