Method

Prepare Chicken

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Take the chicken breasts and season them with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

    Bread the Chicken

Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs. Dip each chicken breast first in flour, then in egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.

  3. 3

    Fry the Chicken

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the breaded chicken breasts and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Transfer to a baking dish.

Make Marinara Sauce

  1. 4

    Sauté Garlic

In the same skillet, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and minced garlic. Sauté over medium heat until fragrant, about 30 seconds.

  2. 5

    Add Tomatoes and Spices

Add the crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Stir and let the sauce simmer for about 15 minutes.

  3. 6

    Combine with Chicken

Once the sauce is ready, pour it over the chicken breasts in the baking dish. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

Cook Pasta

  1. 7

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add 1 tablespoon of salt.

  2. 8

    Cook Linguini

Add linguini to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Bake Chicken

  1. 9

    Bake the Chicken

Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serve

  1. 10

    Plate the Dish

On a serving plate, place a portion of linguini, top with a chicken breast, and spoon extra marinara sauce over the top. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
