Method

Beef Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the NY Strip from the refrigerator and let it rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the steak with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides. Sprinkle with fresh rosemary.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Preheat a grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached. Remove from heat and let rest while preparing the shrimp.

Shrimp Scampi Preparation

  1. 4

    Melt the Butter

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

  2. 5

    Sauté Garlic

Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

  3. 6

    Cook the Shrimp

Add the jumbo shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque.

  4. 7

    Add Wine and Lemon Juice

Pour in the white wine and lemon juice, stirring to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.

  5. 8

Finish with Parsley and Red Pepper Flakes

Stir in the chopped parsley and red pepper flakes, cooking for another minute. Remove from heat.

Serving

  1. 9

    Plate the Dish

Slice the rested NY Strip steak and place it on a plate. Arrange the shrimp scampi next to the steak, spooning some of the sauce over the shrimp.

  2. 10

    Garnish

Garnish with additional parsley if desired and serve immediately.
