Method

Mushroom Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean and Prepare the Mushrooms

Rinse the button mushrooms under cold water to remove any dirt. Pat them dry with paper towels and trim the stems.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Garlic

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic (4 cloves) and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.

  3. 3

    Cook the Mushrooms

Add the prepared button mushrooms to the skillet. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown and tender.

  4. 4

    Add Sherry and Lemon

Pour in the sherry wine and lemon juice. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the liquid has reduced slightly.

  5. 5

    Add Asiago and Garnish

Sprinkle the grated asiago cheese over the mushrooms. Allow it to melt for 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and garnish with sliced scallions.

Garlic Bread Preparation

  1. 6

    Make Garlic Butter

In a small bowl, combine softened butter with minced garlic (2 cloves) and chopped parsley (if using). Mix well until evenly blended.

  2. 7

    Prepare Baguette

Slice the baguette in half lengthwise. Spread the garlic butter mixture generously over both halves.

  3. 8

    Toast the Garlic Bread

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Place the baguette halves on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
