Method
Marinade Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a small mixing bowl, combine the minced garlic, soy sauce, honey, olive oil, black pepper, and salt. Whisk together until the honey is well incorporated and a smooth marinade is formed.
Marinating the Steak
- 2
Marinate the Steak
Place the culotte steak in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, but ideally overnight for maximum flavor.
Cooking the Steak
- 3
- 4
Cook the Steak
Remove the steak from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Place the steak on the preheated grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it to get a good sear, then flip and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is achieved.
- 5
Rest the Steak
Once cooked, transfer the steak to a cutting board and let it rest for about 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute within the meat.
Serving
- 6
Slice and Serve
After resting, slice the steak against the grain into thin strips. Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
