Wash the Japanese cucumbers and slice them thinly. Place them in a bowl and sprinkle with salt. Let them sit for about 10 minutes to draw out excess moisture.
In a small bowl, whisk together sesame oil, rice vinegar, soy sauce, and sugar until the sugar is dissolved.
After 10 minutes, rinse the cucumbers under cold water and drain. Add the cucumbers to the dressing and toss to coat. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
