Beverage Base

Chocolate Mixture

Toppings (optional)

Method

Prepare Espresso

  1. 1

    Brew the Espresso

Using an espresso machine, brew 1 cup of espresso. If you don't have an espresso machine, you can use a strong coffee as a substitute.

Make Chocolate Mixture

  1. 2

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a small bowl, mix together 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and 1 tablespoon of sugar.

  2. 3

    Add Wet Ingredients

Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the dry mixture until it forms a smooth paste. If the mixture is too thick, add a small amount of hot water to achieve a pourable consistency.

Combine Ingredients

  1. 4

    Mix Espresso and Chocolate

In a large mug, combine the brewed espresso with the chocolate mixture, stirring well to blend.

  2. 5

    Add Milk

Heat 1 cup of milk until steaming (do not boil) and froth it if desired. Pour the steamed milk into the mug with the espresso and chocolate mixture, stirring gently to combine.

Add Toppings

  1. 6

    Top Your Mocha

If desired, top your mocha with whipped cream, and sprinkle with chocolate shavings and a dusting of cocoa powder.
