Grilled Broccolini

Method

Preparing the Steak

  1. 1

    Marinate the Hanger Steak

In a bowl, combine the olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Rub this mixture all over the hanger steak and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat (about 450°F to 500°F).

  3. 3

    Grill the Steak

Place the marinated hanger steak on the hot grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached. Remove from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Making the House Steak Sauce

  1. 4

    Combine Sauce Ingredients

In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Stir well.

  2. 5

    Simmer the Sauce

Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Let it cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce slightly thickens.

Grilling the Broccolini

  1. 6

    Prepare Broccolini

In a bowl, toss the broccolini with olive oil, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 7

    Grill the Broccolini

Place the broccolini on the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are tender and have nice grill marks.

  3. 8

    Add Sesame Seeds

Remove the broccolini from the grill, and sprinkle sesame seeds over the top before serving.

Serving

  1. 9

    Plate the Dish

Slice the hanger steak against the grain and arrange it on a serving platter. Drizzle the house steak sauce over the steak and serve alongside the grilled broccolini.
