Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Dough
If using store-bought pizza dough, skip to the next step. If making from scratch, prepare the pizza dough according to your recipe or package instructions. Once ready, let it rise for about 1 hour, covered in a warm place.
- 2
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat up.
Assembling the Pizza
- 3
Shape the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and shape it into a round base on a lightly floured surface. Use your hands or a rolling pin to flatten it to about 12 inches in diameter.
- 4
Add Olive Oil and Cornmeal
Transfer the shaped dough onto a pizza peel or a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush the surface lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with cornmeal to prevent sticking.
- 5
Spread the Sauce
Evenly spread the pizza sauce over the dough, leaving about a half-inch border around the edges.
- 6
Add Cheese
Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce, followed by the parmesan and cheddar cheese.
- 7
Baking
- 8
Bake the Pizza
Carefully slide the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or into the oven. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- 9
Cool and Slice
Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Slice into wedges and serve hot.
