Method
Cocktail
- 1
Combine
Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice (about 1 cup). Add 1.5 oz Ketel One Vodka, 0.75 oz Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur, 0.5 oz Aperol, 2 oz fresh pineapple juice, and 0.75 oz house limemade.
- 2
Shake
Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 12β15 seconds until the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosted. This both chills and dilutes the drink to the proper balance.
- 3
Prepare glass
If serving on the rocks: fill a rocks glass with fresh ice. If serving up: chill a coupe or martini glass in the freezer for a few minutes. Optionally, wipe the rim with a fresh lime wedge to prime it for the oil.
- 4
Strain & finish
Double-strain the cocktail into the prepared glass (over fresh ice for on-the-rocks). Using a dropper or the edge of a citrus peel, add 2 drops of blood orange oil on top of the drink (or express a blood orange peel over the surface to release oils).
Garnish & Serve
- 5
Garnish the drink with a blood orange wheel on the rim and a pineapple leaf or small pineapple wedge. Serve immediately with a cocktail napkin and a short stirrer or straw if served over ice.
