Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Ensure the grates are clean and lightly oiled to prevent sticking.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Toppings

Chop the onions, cut the tomato into wedges, and gather the rest of the toppings (mustard, relish, pickle spear, sport peppers, and celery salt).

Cooking

  1. 3

    Grill the Hot Dogs

Place the all-beef hot dogs on the preheated grill. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally until they are nicely charred and heated through.

  2. 4

    Toast the Buns

During the last 2 minutes of grilling the hot dogs, place the poppy seed buns on the grill to toast lightly.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Chicago Dog

Place a grilled hot dog in each toasted bun. Top with yellow mustard, sweet pickle relish, chopped onions, tomato wedges, a pickle spear, and sport peppers. Sprinkle with celery salt to finish.
