Method
Dough Preparation
- 1
Activate the Yeast
In a small bowl, mix warm water (110°F/43°C) with sugar and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- 2
Combine Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Add the frothy yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a rough dough forms.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
Let the Dough Rise
Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Assembling and Baking the Pizza
- 5
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) to ensure it is hot enough for a crispy crust.
- 6
Shape the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release air. Roll it out on a floured surface into a 12-inch round shape.
- 7
Add Sauce and Cheese
Transfer the rolled-out dough onto a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the surface, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
- 8
Add Pepperoni and Seasoning
Arrange the pepperoni slices over the cheese and sprinkle dried oregano and black pepper on top for added flavor.
- 9
Bake the Pizza
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
- 10
Slice and Serve
Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a couple of minutes, then slice and serve hot.
