Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Gather all the ingredients. Chop the soppressata into small pieces and slice the fresh mozzarella into rounds. Pit and slice the Gaeta olives in half.

  2. 2

    Cook the Tomato Sauce

In a medium saucepan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the tomato sauce, salt, and black pepper. Stir well and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Dish

In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of the tomato sauce at the bottom. Layer the sliced mozzarella evenly over the sauce, followed by the chopped soppressata and the halved Gaeta olives. Drizzle a little more tomato sauce on top of the toppings.

  4. 4

    Bake the Dish

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and slightly golden.

  5. 5

    Garnish and Serve

Remove the dish from the oven. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving. Enjoy your Sonny Boy hot!
