Preparation
- 1
Muddle the Mint and Lime
In a sturdy glass, add the fresh mint leaves and the juice of half the lime. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently press down on the mint leaves to release their oils. Be careful not to tear the leaves too much.
- 2
Add Sugar
Add the granulated sugar to the glass and muddle again to combine the sugar with the mint and lime juice, creating a fragrant paste.
- 3
Add Rum
Pour in the white rum over the muddled mixture and stir gently to combine all the ingredients.
- 4
Add Ice
Fill the glass with ice cubes to the top.

Garnish and Serve
Cut the remaining half of the lime into wedges and place it in the glass as a garnish. Optionally, add a few more mint leaves on top for decoration. Serve immediately with a straw.
