Marinade

Method

Marinade Preparation

1

Prepare the Marinade

In a medium bowl, combine guava paste, soy sauce, honey, lime juice, minced garlic, minced ginger, red pepper flakes, and salt. Whisk together until the guava paste is fully dissolved and the marinade is smooth.

2

Marinate the Chicken

Place the chicken thighs in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the guava marinade over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.

Cooking

3

Preheat and Prepare

Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Brush the grill grates with olive oil to prevent sticking.

4

Grill the Chicken

Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Place the chicken on the hot grill. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until the chicken is cooked through and has nice grill marks.

5

Rest the Chicken

Once cooked, remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for about 5 minutes. This helps to retain the juices.

Serving

6

Plate and Garnish

Slice the chicken thighs and arrange them on a serving platter. Garnish with fresh chopped cilantro and lime wedges. Serve warm.
