Method

Tortilla Chips

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tortillas

Cut each corn tortilla into 6 triangular pieces.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  3. 3

    Fry the Chips

Carefully add the tortilla triangles to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 2-3 minutes or until they turn golden brown and crispy.

  4. 4

    Drain and Season

Remove the chips with a slotted spoon and let them drain on paper towels. While still warm, sprinkle with salt to taste.

Salsa

  1. 5

    Chop the Vegetables

Finely chop the tomatoes, onion, jalapeño pepper (remove seeds for less heat), and cilantro.

  2. 6

    Mix the Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine the chopped tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, and cilantro.

  3. 7

    Add Lime and Salt

Squeeze the juice of the lime over the mixture and add salt. Stir well to combine.

  4. 8

    Let it Marinate

Let the salsa sit for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
