Fried Shrimps

Method

Fried Shrimps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Shrimp

Rinse the large shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Make the Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  3. 3

    Dip in Buttermilk

Pour buttermilk into a separate bowl. Dip each shrimp into the buttermilk, allowing the excess to drip off.

  4. 4

    Coat the Shrimp

Then, coat the shrimp in the flour mixture, ensuring they are fully covered.

  5. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  6. 6

    Fry the Shrimp

Carefully place the coated shrimp in the hot oil, frying in batches if necessary, until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Boiling Shrimps

  1. 7

    Prepare the Boiling Water

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.

  2. 8

    Season the Water

Add Old Bay seasoning and the whole lemon slices to the boiling water, stirring to combine.

  3. 9

    Boil the Shrimp

Add the boiling shrimp to the pot and cook for approximately 2-3 minutes, or until they turn pink and opaque.

  4. 10

    Drain and Garnish

Remove the shrimp from the pot and drain in a colander. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
