Method

Cooking the Crab

    Prepare the Cooking Liquid

    In a large pot, combine the water, Old Bay seasoning, and salt. Bring to a rolling boil over high heat.

    Add the Crab

    Once the water is boiling, carefully add the blue crabs to the pot. Make sure they are fully submerged in the liquid.

    Cook the Crab

    Cover the pot and cook the crabs for about 15-20 minutes, or until they turn a bright orange color.

    Drain and Cool

    Using tongs, carefully remove the crabs from the pot and place them in a colander to drain. Allow them to cool for a few minutes before handling.

    In a mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and hot sauce. Stir until smooth and well combined.
