Taco Filling Preparation
Cook the Beef
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
Season the Beef
Stir in the taco seasoning and water, mixing well to combine. Add salt and black pepper to taste.
Simmer
Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and let it simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Prepare Taco Shells
While the beef is simmering, warm the soft taco shells according to the package instructions.
Assemble Tacos
Place a generous spoonful of the beef mixture into each taco shell. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheddar cheese.
Add Toppings
Finish each taco with a dollop of sour cream and a spoonful of salsa, as desired.
