Make the Sauce
Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, dried basil, oregano, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer, reduce heat to low, and let it cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Pasta

Cook the Pasta
In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add 1 tablespoon of salt. Add the capellini pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 3-4 minutes. Drain the pasta and set aside.

Sauté the Shrimp
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add 3 cloves of minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the shrimp, salt, and black pepper. Cook until the shrimp turn pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.

Serve
Serve the shrimp marinara hot, garnished with fresh basil if desired.
