Method
Prepare the Pasta
- 1
Cook the Linguini
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguini and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
Make the Clam Sauce
- 2
Sauté Garlic
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- 3
Add Clams and Tomatoes
Stir in the chopped clams, chopped tomatoes, and clam broth. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
- 4
Season the Sauce
Add salt and black pepper to taste. Simmer the sauce for about 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- 5
Add Fresh Basil
In the last minute of cooking, stir in the chopped basil and remove from heat.
Combine and Serve
- 6
Toss and Serve
Add the cooked linguini to the skillet with the clam sauce. Toss well to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce. Serve immediately, garnished with additional basil if desired.
