Method

Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently until just combined; avoid overmixing.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the beef mixture into four equal portions and shape them into round patties, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes on the other side for medium-rare doneness. If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 4

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 5

    Add Toppings

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, layer with lettuce, a slice of tomato, a few slices of red onion, and pickles. Place the cooked patty on top.

  3. 6

    Spread the Sauce

In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, and hot sauce to create the special sauce. Spread a generous amount of the sauce on the top half of the bun.

  4. 7

    Complete the Burger

Place the top half of the bun on the assembled burger and press down gently. Serve immediately.
