Method
Preparation
- 1
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- 2
Combine Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted unsalted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Cooking
- 3
Combine Mixtures
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Gently stir until just combined; be careful not to overmix, as this can make the pancakes tough.
- 4
Preheat Skillet
Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with a little butter or cooking spray.
- 5
Cook Pancakes
Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
Serving
- 6
Serve Hot
Stack the pancakes on a plate, add a pat of butter on top, and drizzle with maple syrup. Serve immediately.
