Method
Preparing the Burger
Form the Patties
In a large bowl, take the ground beef and season it with salt and pepper. Form the beef into two equal-sized patties, about ¾ inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to ensure even cooking.
Cook the Patties
Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of aged cheddar on top of each patty. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the beef reaches your desired doneness.
Toast the Buns
While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and lightly toast them on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
Assembling the Burger
Prepare the Bun Base
Start with the bottom half of the toasted burger bun. Spread 1 tablespoon of haus dressing on the bottom half.
Add the Patty
Place the cooked cheeseburger patty on top of the dressing-covered bun.
Layer the Toppings
On top of the patty, add a handful of shredded lettuce, followed by diced onions, sliced tomatoes, and pickles.
Finish the Burger
Spread another tablespoon of haus dressing on the top half of the bun and place it on top of the assembled ingredients. Press down gently to secure.
Serve
Cut the burger in half if desired and serve immediately with your favorite side.
