Cider Preparation
- 1
Combine Ingredients
In a large pot, combine the apple juice, pear juice, brown sugar, water, cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, allspice berries, and nutmeg.
- 2
Simmer the Mixture
Heat the mixture over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer gently for about 20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
- 3
Strain the Cider
After simmering, remove the pot from the heat. Use a fine mesh strainer to strain the cider into a large pitcher, discarding the solid spices and sticks.
- 4
Chill the Cider
Let the strained cider cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until well chilled.
