Salad Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Iceberg Lettuce
Remove any wilted outer leaves from the iceberg lettuce. Cut the head into quarters, leaving the core intact for easier handling. Rinse each wedge under cold water to remove any dirt and pat dry with paper towels.
- 2
Chop the Vegetables
Chop the tomatoes into bite-sized pieces and thinly slice the red onion. Set aside.
Dressing Preparation
- 3
Make the Blue Cheese Dressing
In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, crumbled blue cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, and lemon juice. Whisk together until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Assembly
- 4
Assemble the Wedge
On a serving plate, place a wedge of iceberg lettuce. Top with chopped tomatoes, sliced red onions, crumbled blue cheese, and bacon bits. Drizzle generously with the blue cheese dressing.
- 5
Serve
Repeat the assembly for remaining wedges. Serve immediately, garnished with additional blue cheese and bacon bits if desired.
