Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the casserole.

Prepare Sweet Potatoes
Peel and chop the sweet potatoes into chunks. Place them in a large pot and cover with water. Boil for about 15-20 minutes or until fork-tender. Drain and let cool slightly.

In a large mixing bowl, mash the sweet potatoes until smooth. Then, add the brown sugar, softened butter, milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.
Assembling the Casserole

Pour the sweet potato mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.

Spread the marshmallow and walnut mixture evenly over the sweet potato layer in the baking dish.
