Base Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven and Toast Hazelnuts

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Spread the hazelnuts on a baking sheet in a single layer.

  2. 2

    Toast Hazelnuts

Toast the hazelnuts in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden brown and fragrant. Keep an eye on them to avoid burning.

  3. 3

    Cool and Skin Hazelnuts

Remove the hazelnuts from the oven and let them cool slightly. Once cool enough to handle, rub them with a clean kitchen towel to remove as much of the skin as possible.

  4. 4

    Make Hazelnut Paste

In a food processor, blend the toasted hazelnuts until they turn into a smooth hazelnut paste, scraping down the sides as necessary.

  5. 5

    Combine All Ingredients

Add sugar, cocoa powder, vegetable oil, milk powder, vanilla extract, and salt to the hazelnut paste. Blend until well combined and smooth.

  6. 6

    Adjust Consistency and Flavor

Taste and adjust sweetness or chocolate flavor as desired. If the mixture is too thick, you can add a bit more vegetable oil.

  7. 7

    Store Nutella

Transfer the Nutella to a clean jar or an airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
