Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare Green Beans

Rinse the green beans under cold water and trim the ends. You can snap the ends off with your fingers or use a knife.

  2. 2

    Mince Garlic

Peel the garlic cloves and mince them finely. Set aside.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Blanch Green Beans

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Once boiling, add the green beans and cook for 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and immediately plunge into ice water to stop the cooking process.

  2. 4

    Sauté Almonds

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the slivered almonds and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until they are golden brown, stirring frequently to avoid burning.

  3. 5

    Add Garlic

Add the minced garlic to the skillet with the almonds and sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  4. 6

    Combine Ingredients

Drain the green beans from the ice water and add them to the skillet. Toss everything together to coat the green beans in the almond and garlic mixture.

  5. 7

    Season

Season the dish with salt and black pepper. Squeeze the lemon juice over the top and give it one final toss.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate and Serve

Transfer the hericot verts almodne to a serving dish and serve immediately as a side dish.
