Base Layer

Method

Prepare the Base Layer

  1. 1

    Mix the Base Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, melted butter, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined and have a crumbly texture.

  2. 2

    Press into the Pan

Grease an 8x8 inch baking pan. Pour the crumb mixture into the pan and press it down firmly with the back of a measuring cup or your hands to create an even layer.

Prepare the Chocolate Layer

  1. 3

    Heat the Chocolate Mixture

In a saucepan over low heat, combine the sweetened condensed milk and semisweet chocolate chips. Stir continuously until the chocolate chips melt and the mixture is smooth.

  2. 4

    Add Vanilla

Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.

  3. 5

    Pour over the Base Layer

Pour the chocolate mixture over the pressed base layer in the baking pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.

Add Toppings

  1. 6

    Sprinkle the Toppings

Evenly sprinkle the chopped nuts and mini marshmallows over the chocolate layer.

Chill and Serve

  1. 7

    Chill the Bars

Refrigerate the baking pan for at least 2 hours, or until the chocolate is set and firm.

  2. 8

    Cut and Serve

Once chilled, remove the chocolate bar from the pan using a sharp knife to cut into squares or rectangles. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
