Method
Preparing the Salad
- 1
Wash and Chop Lettuce
Rinse the Romaine lettuce under cold water to remove any dirt or grit. Shake off excess water, then chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces.
- 2
Prepare Croutons
If using store-bought croutons, measure out 1 cup. If making homemade croutons, you can cube bread and toast them in the oven until golden brown.
Making the Caesar Dressing
- 3
Combine Dressing Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, add 1 cup of mayonnaise, 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese, 2 minced garlic cloves, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard, and 1 teaspoon of black pepper.
- 4
Mix the Dressing
Whisk all the dressing ingredients together until well combined and smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt if necessary.
Assembling the Salad
- 5
Combine Ingredients
In a large salad bowl, add the chopped Romaine lettuce. Pour the prepared Caesar dressing over the lettuce and toss gently to coat all the leaves evenly.
- 6
Add Croutons
Sprinkle the croutons over the dressed lettuce and give a final gentle toss to combine.
- 7
Serve
Serve immediately as a fresh side or main dish. Optionally, sprinkle more Parmesan cheese on top before serving.
