- 1
Prepare the glass
Place smoked salt on a small plate. Run a cut lime wedge around the rim of a rocks or coupe glass to moisten, then dip the rim into the smoked salt to coat evenly. Set the glass aside.
- 2
Build and chill
Fill a mixing glass or cocktail shaker with large ice. Add reposado tequila, blanco tequila, fresh lime juice, orange liqueur, agave syrup, Yellow Chartreuse, and orange bitters.
- 3
Stir or shake
For a brighter, slightly diluted texture, shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until the outside of the shaker frosts. For a smoother, silkier texture with less aeration, stir with a bar spoon for 20–30 seconds until properly chilled and diluted. Both methods are acceptable; choose based on preferred texture.
- 4
Strain
Double strain the cocktail into the prepared chilled glass over one large clear ice cube (rocks glass) or without ice (coupe) depending on service preference. Use a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer to catch small shards of ice and pulp.
- 5
Garnish and finish
Garnish with a lime wheel perched on the rim. Optionally, express an orange peel over the surface by holding a flamed peel briefly over the drink and squeezing to release oils, then discard or drop the peel in. Serve immediately.
