Method
Prepare Glasses
- 1
Rim the glass
Pour the coarse salt onto a small plate. Run a lime wedge around the rim of two large margarita or coupe glasses. Dip the rims into the salt to coat evenly. Set the glasses aside in the freezer or refrigerator to chill while you prepare the cocktail.
Make Frozen Margarita
- 2
Combine ingredients
In a blender add 6 fl oz Patrón Silver tequila, 2 fl oz Patrón Citrónge, 2 fl oz fresh lime juice, 1 fl oz fresh lemon juice, and 1 fl oz simple syrup.
- 3
Add ice
Add about 4 cups of ice to the blender. For a thicker slush use more ice; for a slightly thinner drink use a bit less. Secure the lid.
- 4
Blend
Blend on high in 10–20 second pulses until the mixture is smooth and has a slushy consistency. Stop and stir with a spatula once if needed to ensure even blending. Total blending time will be about 30–60 seconds depending on blender strength.
- 5
Adjust sweetness and texture
Taste a small spoonful and adjust: if too tart add up to 0.5 fl oz simple syrup; if too strong add a splash (0.25–0.5 fl oz) water or additional ice and re-blend briefly.

Notes

To scale: recipe yields two large servings (see servings). Use freshly squeezed citrus for best flavor. For a more pronounced citrus aroma, freeze thin lime wheels ahead of time and float one on each drink.
