Method
Cocktail Preparation
- 1
Chill Your Glass
Begin by chilling an old-fashioned glass. You can do this by filling it with ice water and setting it aside while you prepare your cocktail.
- 2
Combine Ingredients
In a mixing glass, combine 2 oz of bourbon, 0.5 oz of brandy de Jerez, 0.5 oz of Pedro Ximénez sherry, and 2 dashes of bitters.
- 3
Add Ice
Add 3 ice cubes to the mixing glass with the ingredients. This will help chill and dilute the mixture.
- 4
Stir the Mixture
Using a bar spoon, stir the mixture gently for about 20-30 seconds until well chilled.
- 5
Strain into Glass
Remove the ice water from your chilled old-fashioned glass and strain the mixture into the glass.
- 6
Garnish
Twist a piece of orange peel over the drink to release its oils, then drop it into the glass as a garnish.
