Cubano Viejo Ingredients

Method

Cubano Viejo Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Glass

Chill a cocktail glass by filling it with ice water. Set aside while you prepare the drink.

  2. 2

    Muddle the Mint

In a cocktail shaker, add the fresh mint leaves. Using a muddler, gently press the mint to release its essential oils. Be careful not to tear the leaves too much.

  3. 3

    Add the Ingredients

To the cocktail shaker with the muddled mint, add the white rum, fresh lime juice, dry vermouth, and simple syrup. Fill the shaker with ice.

  4. 4

    Shake the Mixture

Secure the lid on the cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds, until well chilled.

  5. 5

    Strain into Glass

Remove the ice water from the chilled cocktail glass. Using a fine mesh strainer, pour the cocktail mixture into the glass, leaving the mint leaves behind.

  6. 6

    Top with Cava

Slowly pour the cava over the cocktail to top it off. This will add a refreshing fizz to your drink.

  7. 7

    Garnish

Garnish the cocktail with a lime wheel and a sprig of mint for an aromatic touch.

  8. 8

    Serve

Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing Cubano Viejo!
