Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Mash
Macerate the grains or potatoes in hot water to create a mash. Allow it to cool to room temperature.
- 2
Fermentation
Add yeast to the cooled mash and let it ferment for about 5 to 7 days, keeping it at a stable temperature.
- 3
Distillation
After fermentation, transfer the liquid to a distillation apparatus and heat it to separate the alcohol from the mash.
- 4
Collection
Collect the distilled liquid, which is the vodka, and discard the heads and tails of the distillation.
- 5
Dilution
Dilute the distilled vodka with water to reach the desired alcohol content, usually around 40% ABV.
- 6
Bottling
Bottle the vodka in a clean container. Store it in a cool, dark place.
