Ingredients

Amari Flight - 3 x 1 oz pours (total 3 oz)

Glassware & service

Preparation

Preparation

1. Chill glasses

If desired, chill three small rocks glasses or tasting glasses in the freezer for 10–15 minutes or fill briefly with ice and cold water, then empty right before serving to ensure the amari are served slightly cool but not diluted.

2. Select and label

Choose three distinct amari with contrasting flavor profiles (for example: Averna — sweet & caramel; Campari — bright bitter citrus; Nonino — aromatic herbal). Arrange them left-to-right in the order you want guests to taste, from lightest/sweetest to most bitter/aromatic.

Pouring & Garnish

3. Measure pours

Using a jigger, measure 1 oz (30 ml) of each amaro. Pour each 1 oz into its own chilled glass. Keep pours separate and do not mix; the flight is intended for side-by-side tasting.

4. Add aroma

Express an orange peel over each glass: hold a twist about 2–3 inches above the glass and give it a firm snap so the oils spray onto the surface. Optionally rub the peel on the rim and lay it in the drink or place it on the glass edge.

Serving & Tasting

5. Arrange flight

Place the three prepared glasses on a small tray or flight board in the predetermined order. Add a small shot (about 1 oz) of water or a small cup of sparkling water on the tray as a palate cleanser.

6. Guided tasting (optional)

Advise guests to taste in order from sweetest/mildest to most bitter: take a small sip, let it coat the palate, breathe through the nose to capture aromas, then swallow. Use water or a plain cracker between samples to reset the palate.

7. Storage note

Amari are shelf-stable once opened; reseal bottles and store upright away from direct heat. Leftover pours should be discarded rather than returned to the bottle.
