Method

Cooking the Burger

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patty

In a bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patty

Shape the beef mixture into a patty approximately 1/4 inch thick.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patty

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patty for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium doneness.

  4. 4

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of the patty to melt.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Bun

Toast the burger bun on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.

  2. 6

    Spread Mayonnaise

Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of the toasted bun.

  3. 7

    Add Lettuce

Place a lettuce leaf on top of the mayonnaise.

  4. 8

    Add Tomato

Layer two slices of tomato on top of the lettuce.

  5. 9

    Place the Patty

Add the cooked cheeseburger patty on top of the tomato.

  6. 10

    Top with Condiments

Add ketchup, pickles, and onion slices on top of the patty.

  7. 11

    Complete the Burger

Finish by placing the top half of the bun over the assembled ingredients.
