Potatoes

Oil for Frying

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Wash and Peel Potatoes

Wash the Russet potatoes thoroughly under cold water. Peel the skin off using a vegetable peeler.

  2. 2

    Cut into Crinkle Shapes

Using a crinkle cutter or a wavy knife, cut the peeled potatoes into crinkle cut fries about 1/2 inch thick.

  3. 3

    Soak the Fries

Place the crinkle cut fries in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch and makes them crispier.

Frying

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep fryer or a large heavy-bottomed pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer to check the temperature.

  2. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the soaked fries in batches to the hot oil. Fry for 4-6 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.

  3. 6

    Drain the Fries

Remove the fries using a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Seasoning

  1. 7

    Season the Fries

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle them with salt, paprika, and black pepper to taste.

  2. 8

    Serve

Serve the crinkle cut fries immediately while hot and crispy. Enjoy!
