Beef Patty

Burger Assembly

Method

Prepare Beef Patty

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined; do not overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each into a patty that is about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.

Cook Beef Patty

  1. 3

    Preheat Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, you can add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on the first side, then flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for medium doneness.

Assemble Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare Toppings

While the patties are cooking, wash the lettuce leaves and slice the tomato and onion into thin rings.

  2. 6

    Toast Buns (optional)

If desired, cut the burger buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster.

  3. 7

    Construct Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked beef patty. Add a slice of cheese if desired, then top with tomato and onion slices. Finish with ketchup and mustard to taste before placing the top half of the bun.
