Sandwich Assembly

Method

BBQ Pork Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork

Trim any excess fat from the pork shoulder and cut it into large chunks for even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season and Cook

In a slow cooker, place the pork shoulder chunks. Add chopped onion, minced garlic, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and apple cider vinegar over the pork. Pour BBQ sauce on top.

  3. 3

    Slow Cook

Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.

  4. 4

    Shred the Pork

Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Mix it back with the sauce in the slow cooker.

Coleslaw Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare the Vegetables

Shred the green cabbage and large carrot. Combine them in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 6

    Make the Dressing

In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.

  3. 7

    Combine

Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrot mixture. Toss until all vegetables are well coated.

  4. 8

    Chill

Cover the coleslaw and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 9

    Assemble the Sandwich

To assemble, place a generous portion of the BBQ pork on the bottom half of each brioche bun.

  2. 10

    Add Coleslaw

Top the pork with a scoop of coleslaw, then add pickles if desired.

  3. 11

    Finish the Sandwich

Close the sandwich with the top half of the brioche bun and serve immediately.
