Chicken Strips

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cut the Chicken

Slice the chicken breast into strips about 1 inch wide. Place them aside in a bowl.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Breading Station

In three separate shallow bowls, place the flour in the first bowl, whisk the eggs and milk together in the second bowl, and mix the bread crumbs with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika in the third bowl.

Coating the Chicken

  1. 3

    Dredge in Flour

Take a chicken strip and coat it in the flour, shaking off any excess.

  2. 4

    Dip in Egg Mixture

Next, dip the floured chicken strip into the egg and milk mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated.

  3. 5

    Coat with Breadcrumbs

Finally, roll the chicken strip in the seasoned bread crumbs until well coated. Set aside on a plate and repeat with the remaining chicken strips.

Frying

  1. 6

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat the oil over medium-high heat. You can test if the oil is ready by dropping a small piece of bread into it; if it bubbles, the oil is hot enough.

  2. 7

    Fry the Chicken Strips

Carefully place the breaded chicken strips into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.

  3. 8

    Drain and Serve

Once cooked, remove the chicken strips from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
