Method

Tiramisu Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Coffee

Brew a strong cup of espresso coffee and let it cool to room temperature. If desired, stir in coffee liqueur for added flavor.

  2. 2

    Make the Mascarpone Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.

  3. 3

    Whip the Cream

In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.

  4. 4

    Soak the Ladyfingers

Dip each ladyfinger into the cooled espresso coffee for about 1 second on each side. Do not soak them too long; they should be moist but not soggy.

  5. 5

    Layer the Tiramisu

In a rectangular dish, arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers, smoothing it out evenly.

  6. 6

    Repeat the Layers

Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers on top of the mascarpone mixture, followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture. Smooth the top with a spatula.

  7. 7

    Chill the Tiramisu

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set.

  8. 8

    Serve the Tiramisu

Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder using a fine mesh sieve. Cut into squares and enjoy your delicious homemade tiramisu!
