Cooking Directions
- 1
Prepare the Pizza Dough
If you're using store-bought pizza dough, skip to the next step. If making from scratch, combine flour, yeast, water, and salt in a bowl, knead for 10 minutes, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
- 2
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 250°C (482°F) or the highest setting available, ideally with a pizza stone inside.
- 3
Shape the Dough
On a floured surface, stretch and shape the pizza dough into a round circle about 12 inches in diameter.
- 4
Add Tomato Sauce
Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the surface of the pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- 5
Add Mozzarella
Tear the fresh mozzarella into smaller pieces and distribute them evenly over the sauce.
- 6
Season the Pizza
Drizzle olive oil over the pizza and sprinkle salt and black pepper to taste.
- 7
Bake the Pizza
Carefully place the pizza in the preheated oven (on the pizza stone if using) and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- 8
Add Fresh Basil
Once the pizza is out of the oven, arrange fresh basil leaves on top while the pizza is still hot.
- 9
Slice and Serve
Let the pizza cool for a minute, then slice into wedges and serve immediately.
