Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Begin by seasoning the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- 2
Bread the Chicken
Set up a breading station: Place flour in one shallow dish, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs in a third. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off excess, then dip in eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
Cooking
- 3
Fry the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the breaded chicken breasts and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- 4
Assemble the Dish
In a baking dish, place the fried chicken breasts. Top each piece with marinara sauce, then sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- 5
Bake
Transfer the baking dish to the preheated oven and bake for about 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serving
- 6
Garnish and Serve
Remove the chicken from the oven, garnish with fresh basil leaves, and serve hot with pasta or a green salad on the side.
