Prepare Meatballs

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Shape Meatballs
Using your hands, shape the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter.

Bake Meatballs
Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
Prepare Marinara Sauce

Cook Sauce
Add canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and fresh basil. Stir well and let the sauce simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Assemble Sandwich

Toast Rolls (Optional)
If desired, toast the sub rolls in the oven until lightly golden.

Place 2-3 meatballs in each sub roll and generously spoon marinara sauce over the meatballs.
